Geotechnical Engineering Opportunities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Queensland.

The Opportunity:

  • Lead geotechnical aspects of projects, ensuring best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Scope and deliver geotechnical projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control.
  • Plan and supervise site investigations, including borehole drilling, in-situ testing, sampling, and monitoring.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, liquefaction assessment, and seismic response.
  • Design foundations, earth retaining structures, ground improvement solutions, and pavements.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, feasibility studies, design documents, and specifications.
  • Identify geotechnical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Nurture client relationships, attend meetings, and provide geotechnical advice and presentations.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Chartered or Professional Engineer status (or eligibility) is highly desirable.
  • Approximately 5-10 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience, ideally in consulting, infrastructure, or construction projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in ground investigation, geotechnical analysis, and design of foundations, earthworks, and retaining structures.
  • Experience in soft-soil investigation and design for South-East Queensland conditions are highly desirable.
  • Awareness and some growing experience in geotechnical software.
  • Strong report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and teams.
