The Opportunity
We are seeking a professional to lead geotechnical aspects as part of project teams and ensure best practices are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading geotechnical investigations and ensuring accurate data collection and analysis
- Scoping and delivering geotechnical projects or components, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control
- Planning and supervising site investigations, including borehole drilling, in-situ testing, sampling, and monitoring
- Performing geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, liquefaction assessment, and seismic response
- Designing foundations (shallow and deep), earth retaining structures, ground improvement solutions, and pavements
- Preparing high-quality technical reports, feasibility studies, design documents, and specifications
- Identifying geotechnical risks and developing mitigation strategies
- Nurturing client relationships, attending meetings, and providing geotechnical advice and presentations
- Mentoring junior graduate/early career geotechnical engineers and technicians
- Ensuring all geotechnical activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies

About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- A great attitude to teamwork, collaboration, and communication
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Engineering Geology, or a closely related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Chartered or Professional Engineer status (or eligibility) is highly desirable Approximately 5-10 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience, ideally in consulting, infrastructure, or construction projects
- Demonstrated expertise in ground investigation, geotechnical analysis, and design of foundations, earthworks, and retaining structures
- Strong report writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and teams
We offer hybrid working and flexible locations, Brisbane, Gold Coast, or Sunshine Coast, so you can base yourself where it suits you best and work from home 2 days per week when not required on-site or at a client's office.
