Are you a seasoned professional seeking a challenging role that leverages your expertise in claims management?

A leading medical defence organisation is currently looking for a highly skilled Claims Management Specialist to join their Adelaide team on a full-time, permanent basis. In this critical role, you will report directly to the Claims Team Manager and be responsible for managing member claims and investigations to support our members.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Providing guidance, advice and support in the indemnification of claims;
  • Formulating a claims management strategy for the member to achieve the best possible outcome;
  • Partnering with solicitors to support our members' claims as required;
  • Contributing to the provision of claims services including special projects, writing articles and presentations; and
  • Participating in the resourcing of the medico-legal advice hotline.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in law or health;
  • Solicitors with a valid practising certificate will be highly regarded;
  • Previous experience in insurance claims management;
  • A strong understanding of current health and insurance legislation;
  • A focus on time management and work management;
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills;
  • Proven ability to work in an electronic document management system; and
  • Strong relationship building and negotiation skills.
