Overview
This scholarship offers a unique opportunity for a PhD candidate to engage in a pivotal research project focused on the Australian reconciliation movement. The position is hosted by the National Centre for Reconciliation Practice, a leading institution in promoting understanding and systemic change in reconciliation.

Scholarship Details
The successful candidate will receive an annual stipend of $45,000 for a duration of up to 3.5 years, on a full-time, fixed-term basis. This scholarship is specifically designed for individuals who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, in accordance with the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic).

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a comprehensive literature review to identify existing research and potential new avenues for investigation.
  • Collaborate with the supervisory team to formulate a detailed research plan.
  • Engage in data collection and analysis.
  • Independently execute research activities and contribute to the wider research community.
  • Prepare and present written and oral reports on research findings.
  • Submit research findings for publication in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
  • Complete milestone reports and a thesis in line with the University's HDR Training Policy.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team, including industry partners and academic colleagues.
  • Participate in group development and contribute to additional projects as directed by the supervisor.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Strong analytical, data analysis, and critical problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional time management and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Capability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary research team.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in both oral and written communication.
  • Prior publications will be viewed favorably.
  • Must meet the entry requirements for the Doctor of Philosophy program at Swinburne University.
  • Availability to commence PhD candidature promptly.
