We are seeking a distinguished Professor or Associate Professor to lead our Indigenous Studies program and take on the role of Director. As a key member of the Faculty of Arts, you will be responsible for shaping the program's vision and culture to better recognize the perspectives and ways of knowing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Indigenous Studies program and develop a strategic plan to advance its goals and objectives
- Provide academic leadership and mentorship to staff and students
- Develop and teach courses in Indigenous Studies, including initiating new course development
- Secure research grants and collaborations to advance the program's research agenda
- Collaborate with the Associate Dean Indigenous and the Faculty's Divisional Indigenous Development Plan to achieve Indigenous objectives and dedicated funding
- PhD in an appropriate field of expertise
- Track record of success in Indigenous Studies scholarship and research grants
- Excellent teaching and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students
- Current and valid Working with Children Check
