Nsw Quitline Supervisor Role

The NSW quitline supervisor and counsellor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cessation services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver evidence-based telephone counselling to individuals seeking to quit smoking or vaping, as well as provide informational support to carers, family members, and health professionals.
  • Conduct clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement follow-up sessions to maintain client motivation and prevent relapse.
  • Evaluate service performance, identify quality improvement opportunities, and contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives to enhance service efficiency.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as counselling, social work, or psychology, accompanied by at least three years of post-clinical experience in counselling.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and train counsellors in a clinical setting.
  • Experience in identifying and implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including clinical documentation and client communication.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, with a high level of patience and confidence in executing duties.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and outside regular business hours, with willingness to assist with backfilling shifts when required.

All staff members are expected to be non-smokers. Former smokers or vapers must have been quit for at least six months.
