Role OverviewThe Quitline Supervisor & Counseller position entails overseeing counsellors on shift and serving as the primary point of escalation for clients and counsellors. You will be responsible for providing telephone counselling to individuals who smoke and/or vape, as well as informational support to carers and family members, along with health professionals regarding cessation care.This includes conducting clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, delivering evidence-based counselling, referrals, and follow-up sessions to maintain client motivation and prevent relapse. Quitline counsellors work with diverse population groups and backgrounds with varying health conditions.Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality support to individuals to assist them quit smoking and/or vaping
  • Supervise counsellors on shift and address complex or high-risk clinical issues
  • Monitor and evaluate the service to ensure efficient and effective operation
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the service
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Completed a minimum three-year bachelor's degree qualification in counselling, social work, or psychology
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in counselling and registration with the relevant Peak Body associated with the qualified discipline
  • High level verbal and written communication skills, including clinical documentation and client communication
  • Ability to remain calm and execute clinical service delivery with confidence and patience in a high-pressure environment
  • Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and outside business hours
