Making a difference in health technology is a vital part of our organization's mission. We are seeking highly skilled Specialist Support Workers to join our team and support victim-survivors experiencing family, domestic and sexual violence.
About the Leaving Violence Program
The program aims to provide individualized financial support packages, safety supports through risk assessments, safety planning and referral support to victim-survivors who plan to leave or have left a violent intimate partner relationship.
Job Description
In this role, you will provide up to 12 weeks of intensive, tailored, and trauma-informed support to victim-survivors from priority cohorts who face complex challenges.
- Provide specialist case management and goal setting
- Conduct complex risk management and safety planning
- Coordinate advanced referrals and specialist services
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Hold a three-year Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Community Services and Psychotherapy, OR A Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Psychology), Psychological Science, Criminology or Community Services plus a postgraduate qualification in counselling or psychology
- Be registered with relevant peak bodies for non-AHPRA practitioners; Current Working with Vulnerable People Check; Completion of a National Police Check; Verification of the right to work in Australia
- Have three years of experience in risk and needs assessment, safety planning, and trauma-informed support specific to FDSV; Proven experience in providing culturally responsive support and communication
