Job Title

We are seeking a highly motivated Patient Liaison Officer to support patient admissions and financial classification across multiple facilities within the Local Health District.

This role involves ensuring accurate revenue capture by assessing patient eligibility, guiding financial elections, and maintaining compliance with NSW Health policies. You will work closely with clinical and administrative teams to support private and compensable patient processes, manage overseas visitor billing, and provide education to staff on revenue procedures.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting patient admissions and financial classification;
  • Assessing patient eligibility and guiding financial elections;
  • Maintaining compliance with NSW Health policies;
  • Working closely with clinical and administrative teams to support private and compensable patient processes;
  • Managing overseas visitor billing;
  • Providing education to staff on revenue procedures;
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to have difficult conversations with patients and their families;
  • Willingness and ability to work a 7-day rotating roster;
  • Accurate word processing skills and competence with electronic patient records;
  • Ability to work independently and problem-solve with limited guidance;
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise competing demands;
  • Ability to write clear and accurate documentation and correspondence;
  • Ability to apply financial classifications and NSW revenue-related policies;
  • Understanding of the Australian Health Care Agreement;
  • Ability to undertake documentation reviews and quality checks;
