We are seeking a motivated Patient Liaison Officer to support patient admissions and financial classification across multiple facilities within NBMLHD. In this role, you will ensure accurate revenue capture by assessing patient eligibility, guiding financial elections, and maintaining compliance with NSW Health policies. You'll work closely with clinical and administrative teams to support private and compensable patient processes, manage overseas visitor billing, and provide education to staff on revenue procedures. This position operates on a 7-day rotating roster and plays a key role in enhancing both patient experience and financial outcomes.

Support patient admissions and financial classification across NBMLHD facilities, ensuring accurate revenue capture and compliance with NSW Health policies. Work with clinical and administrative teams to support private and compensable patient processes, manage overseas visitor billing, and provide education to staff on revenue procedures. Maintain a 7-day rotating roster and contribute to improving patient experience and financial outcomes.
Qualifications- Exceptional customer service, verbal communication and negotiation skills; ability to have difficult conversations with patients and their families
- Willingness and ability to work a 7-day rotating roster with demonstrated flexibility
- Accurate word processing skills and competence with Word, Excel and electronic patient records
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve with limited guidance
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise competing demands to ensure timely completion of work
- Ability to write clear and accurate documentation and correspondence
- Ability to apply financial classifications and NSW revenue-related policies; understanding of the Australian Health Care Agreement
- Ability to undertake documentation reviews and quality checks
