About the Role

Mattel, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Brand Manager to join our Marketing team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing go-to-market plans for our designated brands, inspiring the wonder of childhood every day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Annual Marketing Plans: Drive the creation of annual marketing plans for long-term growth on our brands, aligned with global priorities and targets.
  • Evaluate and Adapt Plans: Continuously evaluate and re-evaluate plans in line with business needs, changing marketplaces, key objectives, and initiatives.
  • Analyse and Interpret Data: Analyse and interpret marketing, trade, and consumer research information to make recommendations to the sales team regarding pricing, promotions, distribution channels, advertising, and competition.
  • Product Development: Make recommendations on product development to ensure local requirements are considered in the development process.
  • Review and Adapt: Review weekly POS, NPD, and sales information and recommend changes in pricing, media, and product mix. Adapt marketing plans where required.
  • Set A&P Plans: Set high-level A&P plans/direction, working with Brand Managers & Coordinators to ensure budgets are maintained and accurate.
  • Local Brand Objectives: Set local brand objectives to align with short and long-range strategies, in alignment with global targets.
  • Collaborate with Sales: Work alongside Mattel Sales to develop plans to create additional sales opportunities for retailers, driving YOY growth.
  • Lead Business Unit: Lead the Business Unit from a marketing perspective, working side by side with the Sales BU lead to ensure business financial targets are being achieved, work on strategies to hit targets.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualified in either marketing, business management, economics, or other business-related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Brand Manager.
  • A love of finding answers through numbers.
  • Experience working with/within retailers to build and execute plans.
  • Experience partnering with Sales Teams for a shared result.
  • The ability to inspire, engage, and influence others.
