Advanced Trauma Care Specialist

About the Position

  • As an integral part of our trauma team, you will attend all Level 1 and 2 trauma call-outs, contribute to patient care, and maintain accurate documentation in our trauma booklet.
  • Collect essential pre-hospital data, record information for the National Trauma Registry, and perform primary, secondary, and tertiary surveys on trauma patients.
  • Demonstrate vital trauma skills such as tube thoracostomies, splinting fractures, and wound washouts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend trauma call-outs, participate in patient care, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain accurate records, manage documentation, and ensure seamless communication between healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and apply advanced trauma skills, staying up-to-date with industry best practices and guidelines.

Personal Qualifications

  • Must have relevant qualifications and experience: MBBS or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia, and Basic Life Support certified.
  • Possess strong clinical skills in trauma care, ability to work independently, and excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proven experience in supervising medical staff, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, and promoting a culture of quality improvement and patient-centered care.
