Job Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for attending Level 1 and 2 trauma call-outs, conducting thorough assessments, and ensuring accurate documentation in the trauma booklet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend all Level 1 and 2 trauma call-outs to provide timely and effective patient care
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the trauma booklet, including essential pre-hospital data
  • Conduct primary, secondary, and tertiary surveys on trauma patients, demonstrating expertise in vital trauma skills such as tube thoracostomies, splinting fractures, and wound washouts
  • Engage in educational opportunities by presenting Level 1 trauma cases during weekly audits and attending regular teaching sessions led by trauma consultants and fellows
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including emergency department consultants, trauma fellows, and trauma surgical consultants, to ensure comprehensive patient care

Requirements:

  • Hold a medical degree equivalent to an MBBS or registrable qualification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory
  • Clinical experience in trauma, particularly at a Senior RMO or Registrar level is preferred
  • Strong clinical skills in trauma care, with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment are necessary
  • Proven experience in supervising medical staff and teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students is required
  • A comprehensive understanding of trauma management, quality improvement, and commitment to patient rights and responsibilities is essential
