
Trauma Care Specialist

Job Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for attending Level 1 and 2 trauma call-outs, conducting thorough assessments, and ensuring accurate documentation in the trauma booklet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend all Level 1 and 2 trauma call-outs to provide timely and effective patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation in the trauma booklet, including essential pre-hospital data
- Conduct primary, secondary, and tertiary surveys on trauma patients, demonstrating expertise in vital trauma skills such as tube thoracostomies, splinting fractures, and wound washouts
- Engage in educational opportunities by presenting Level 1 trauma cases during weekly audits and attending regular teaching sessions led by trauma consultants and fellows
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including emergency department consultants, trauma fellows, and trauma surgical consultants, to ensure comprehensive patient care
Requirements:
- Hold a medical degree equivalent to an MBBS or registrable qualification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory
- Clinical experience in trauma, particularly at a Senior RMO or Registrar level is preferred
- Strong clinical skills in trauma care, with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment are necessary
- Proven experience in supervising medical staff and teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students is required
- A comprehensive understanding of trauma management, quality improvement, and commitment to patient rights and responsibilities is essential
