Advanced Trauma Specialist

As a vital member of our Trauma team, you will play a key role in attending all Level 1 and 2 trauma call-outs. Your contributions will directly impact trauma assessment and patient care.
Responsibilities include performing primary, secondary, and tertiary surveys on trauma patients, demonstrating essential trauma skills such as tube thoracostomies, splinting fractures, and wound washouts.
Aside from your clinical duties, you will actively participate in educational opportunities by presenting Level 1 trauma cases during weekly audits and attending regular teaching sessions led by our Trauma consultants and fellows.
The role also involves clinical supervision, with guidance from the Emergency Department Consultant, Trauma Fellow, and Trauma Surgical Consultants in assessing and managing patients.
Requirements:
- Relevant Qualifications & Experience: MBBS or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certified, with clinical experience in trauma, particularly at a Senior RMO or Registrar level.
- Clinical & Communication Skills: Strong clinical skills in trauma care, with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Leadership & Teaching Abilities: Proven experience in supervising medical staff and teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Commitment to Quality & Patient Care: A comprehensive understanding of trauma management, quality improvement, and a commitment to patient rights and responsibilities.
