
Trauma Care Specialist

The role of the Trauma Service Registrar is multifaceted, requiring attendance at all Level 1 and 2 trauma call-outs. This involves contributing to trauma assessment and patient care.
Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate documentation, gathering pre-hospital data, and recording information for the National Trauma Registry. Additionally, primary, secondary, and tertiary surveys on trauma patients must be performed, demonstrating essential trauma skills such as tube thoracostomies, splinting fractures, and wound washouts.
As a member of our team, successful candidates will have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills in a supportive environment while contributing to the ongoing development of our Trauma Service.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled medical professional with relevant qualifications and experience:
- Essential Qualifications & Experience: A registrable MBBS or equivalent qualification, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Clinical & Communication Skills: Strong clinical skills in trauma care, with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Leadership & Teaching Abilities: Proven experience in supervising medical staff and teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Commitment to Quality & Patient Care: A comprehensive understanding of trauma management, quality improvement, and a commitment to patient rights and responsibilities.
