Primary Healthcare Specialist

This role presents an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality primary health care to patients from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver comprehensive and culturally appropriate care
- Support the team and community in delivering health services
- Hold a Bachelor of Nursing and/or Certificate IV in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice)
- Be registered as an AHP/Nurse with AHPRA
- Demonstrate understanding and experience in providing primary health care, utilising standard treatment manuals
- Display awareness and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history, and knowledge of issues impacting on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today
- Exhibit excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate sensitively in a cross-cultural environment
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and as a member of a team, with strong organisational skills and ability to plan, manage, and prioritise tasks
- Have computer skills, including experience using the Microsoft suite of applications and clinical practice software
- Have remote health experience and/or emergency care experience
- Have experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service or similar environment
Applicants must hold a current police check, a valid NT working with children's card, a current CPR certificate, and full vaccination against COVID-19, or an exemption as listed on the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR)
