Job Description

The primary function of this role is to oversee the daily operations for dispatch, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of freight. This involves coordinating with various stakeholders to prepare outbound orders, create daily schedules for drivers, and manage freight movement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Freight Management: Process and dispatch freight, stack and wrap pallets, and perform warehouse duties as required.
  • Document Control: Create air and road consignment notes using both computer and manual systems.
  • Terminal Operations: Lodge and collect freight at air and sea terminals.
  • Delivery Services: Load and unload delivery vehicles and complete deliveries occasionally.
  • Routing Optimization: Collaborate with management to modify daily routes based on customer needs.
  • Driver Support: Prepare daily work schedules and notify drivers of road hazards.
  • Logistics Monitoring: Monitor driver logs for errors, violations, working hours, and equipment availability.
  • Export/Import Shipments: Process export and import shipments.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2-3 years of warehousing experience and customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Current forklift license or willingness to obtain one, Certificate I-II in Warehousing & Distribution (highly regarded).
  • Skill Set: Excellent communication skills, ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks, strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with dispatch software is desirable.
