About the Role:

  • We are seeking an accomplished Chief Growth Officer to lead our commercial growth function and accelerate enterprise growth across Risk & Human Capital in Australia.
  • This executive leadership role is based in Sydney or Melbourne and reports to the CEO, Australia with a matrix line to the CCO, APAC.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Partner with executive business owners to construct and deliver commercial growth strategies that position us as an industry-leading firm.
  2. Own portfolio growth across new client acquisition (Risk Capital & Human Capital), including pipeline development, management, and sales capability uplift.
  3. Partner with business leaders to grow existing clients (new/existing solution-line sales) through Delivering Aon United (DAU) and Aon Client Leadership (ACL) activity.
  4. Identify incremental organic opportunities with segment leaders and shape arguments for inorganic growth to deliver tangible outcomes.
  5. Be accountable for new business revenue, client profitability, and client service levels across Australia, with impact across Pacific/APAC.
  6. Embed best-practice operating standards, including adoption of Aon's global CRM Aon Connect, and drive high-impact bid management and proposal development.
  7. Lead, mentor, and develop the Commercial (Growth & Bids) team – 4 direct reports and a 26-person team – encouraging collaboration and accountability.
  8. Partner with Marketing to craft demand generation and top-of-funnel activities aligned to market opportunities.
  9. Align the People Strategy to business goals (goal setting, colleague engagement, talent & succession, remuneration, and development planning).
  10. Operational excellence: use data, AI and digital tools to optimize decisions and outcomes.
  11. Transformation & change: champion a growth mindset, innovation, continuous improvement, and customer-centricity enterprise-wide.
  12. Risk & compliance: ensure growth activities meet Australian regulatory requirements and Aon standards.

  • Excellent presentation and communication; adaptability, resilience, humility, empathy, and openness.
  • Background: Senior commercial, sales, or client-management experience in financial/professional services or insurance.
