Aboriginal Justice Policy Specialist

This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the Victorian Aboriginal community.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to provide policy advice to support the implementation and monitoring of the Aboriginal Justice Agreement (AJA). The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the AJA and its goals, as well as experience in policy development and implementation.

  1. Job Description: The role will involve working closely with the Koori Justice Unit (KJU) to coordinate the implementation of the AJA. This will include developing and implementing policies and programs that support the AJA's objectives.
  2. Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a relevant tertiary qualification in law, public policy, or a related field. You will also need to have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Aboriginal community, including its society, culture, and issues impacting it. Experience in advocacy and delivering policy and legislative reform through community consultation and targeted engagement is also essential.
  3. Benefits: This is a fixed-term opportunity that offers a competitive salary range of $105,479 - $127,621.
