Position Overview

Gallagher Bassett is seeking a dedicated professional to fill the role of an Eligibility Officer within our Self-Insurance team. This position is essential in delivering a compassionate and customer-focused service to various stakeholders involved in the claims process.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for injured workers, employers, and medical professionals regarding workplace injury claims.
  • Perform risk assessments and evaluate the severity of claims to identify barriers and implement effective strategies.
  • Facilitate the claims lodgement process by gathering essential information from stakeholders to ensure timely claim determinations.
  • Conduct liability assessments for new, secondary, or reopened claims based on available information.
  • Calculate Normal Weekly Earnings (NWE) for claims accurately.
  • Document critical information from initial claims summaries to ensure a smooth transition to Claims teams.

Candidate Profile

  • A strong commitment to assisting individuals, with experience in administration or customer service; experience in workers' compensation or claims is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • A proactive and comprehensive approach to problem-solving.
  • Outstanding time management and organizational abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Empathetic and enthusiastic, demonstrating a collaborative team spirit.
  • A resilient and adaptable mindset.
