Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Eligibility Officer to join our Self-Insurance team in Darwin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to stakeholders, acting as the first point of contact for claims lodgement. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring seamless claims processing and timely determinations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Claims Intake and Assessment
    • Act as the primary point of contact for injured workers, employers, medical practitioners, and other stakeholders regarding workplace injury claims.
    • Conduct thorough risk assessments and triage claims to identify potential barriers and implement effective strategies.
  • Claims Lodgement and Coordination
    • Coordinate the claims lodgement process, ensuring timely and accurate collection of key information from stakeholders.
    • Request additional information as necessary to support claim determinations.
  • Liability Determinations and Calculations
    • Undertake liability determinations for new, secondary, or reopened claims based on relevant information and available data.
    • Calculate Normal Weekly Earnings (NWE) for claims.
  • Documentation and Communication
    • Document relevant information from initial claims lodgement summaries to support a smooth handover to Claims teams.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of claims processes and outcomes.
