Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager to lead our team in the Cardiothoracic Unit – 4Fw1. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in providing expert nursing care, mentoring, and guiding less experienced staff.

You will collaborate closely with the Nurse Unit Manager and other ANUMs to ensure the delivery of high-quality, consistent care and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the unit. Your experience and professional development will enable you to lead by example, moving from a competent to proficient practitioner.

In this leadership position, you will support the Nurse Unit Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations and contributing to key unit management activities, including performance management, recruitment, rostering, and attendance, as well as monitoring financial and supplies planning.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Registered Nurse qualification with at least 3 years of post-registration experience, or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse;">
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team;">
  • Proven ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision, while maintaining a commitment to high-quality, consumer-centred care;">
  • Experience in supervising student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced staff, alongside a solid understanding of the Associate Nurse Unit Manager role and relevant healthcare legislation;">">
