About the Role

SA Health is seeking an experienced Nurse to join our Mental Health Services team at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

The successful candidate will provide specific support to the Nurse Unit Manager in the leadership of nurses in the unit/team, including performance management processes, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation, and attendance management.

The role involves ensuring optimal consumer care is provided by utilising the process of nursing to deliver direct and comprehensive nursing care and individual case management to mental health consumers within a designated practice setting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership and supervision of nursing staff
  • Clinical knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality care
  • Participation in action research projects, quality improvement activities, and policy development
  • Collaboration with other professional disciplines and non-governmental organisations

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registered as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Qualification in mental health nursing equivalent to a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing
  • Demonstrated competence in the care of individuals with complex mental health needs
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
