Nurse Unit Leadership Position in Rehabilitation

The Central Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead the Karra Rehab Unit at TQEH. This is a full-time temporary position up to 5/12/25.
About the RoleAs an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a key role in providing high-quality nursing services across various health settings. You will continue to grow as a competent to proficient practitioner, taking accountability for your own practice standards and activities delegated to others. In this role, you will also guide and develop less experienced staff, contributing to their professional growth within the team.
You will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager or equivalent, providing essential support in leading and coordinating nursing staff. Your responsibilities will include promoting continuity and consistency of care, collaborating on implementing practice changes, and assisting with management responsibilities such as performance management, recruitment, rostering, staffing, and financial planning.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient care
- Guide and develop less experienced staff to promote their professional growth
- Work collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager to implement practice changes and improve patient outcomes
- Assist with management responsibilities including performance management, recruitment, rostering, staffing, and financial planning
To thrive in this role, you will need to possess strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. You should be knowledgeable in contemporary nursing practices, relevant legislation, and quality improvement systems. Experience in supervising less experienced staff is highly desirable.
You should hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with eligibility for a practicing certificate. At least 3 years' post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse/Midwife or classification as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife is required.
