We are seeking an accomplished Chief Legal Advisor to join our infrastructure team. This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with our business development and management teams to structure, prepare, negotiate, and conclude transactions across the Asia Pacific Region.

The role requires a high degree of technical expertise, excellent advisory, negotiation, and drafting skills, as well as a strong ability to work effectively with people of all levels and disciplines within the company and external lawyers where necessary.

Job Description

This is a unique development opportunity to shape a senior in-house career in the construction sector. You will be supporting the Public Infrastructure, Renewables and Clean Power, and Heavy Civil business lines across the APAC region, with a focus on Australia.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leadership on legal and commercial issues relating to prospects and projects in the Asia Pacific Region;
  • Working closely with GBU Business Development and Management in structuring, preparing, negotiating, and concluding transactions for prospects and projects in the Asia Pacific Region;
  • Advising and supporting GBU Management and project personnel on legal issues during the execution of projects;
  • Advising GBU Business Development and Management on the company's internal protocols and procedures to ensure that compliance is maintained.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 8 years post-qualification work experience with engineering and construction projects and related contract documents from a major law firm and/or major engineering, procurement, and construction firm;
  • A current legal practicing certificate from an Australian jurisdiction;
  • Excellent technical expertise, with a high order of original and creative legal analysis;
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills;
  • A strategic approach to problem-solving.
