Environmental Services Officer

The Ballina Shire Council is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Waste Management Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Services team, you will play a crucial role in the operation of our waste and recycling business.
Key Responsibilities- Provide labouring and plant operation support to contribute to the efficient delivery of waste management services to the community.
- Report to the Coordinator Waste Management and maintain a professional and courteous public image.
- Assist in the operation of Council's waste and recycling business, including the collection and disposal of waste.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of waste management strategies and initiatives.
- Class C driver licence with the ability to operate manual transmission.
- Experience in the waste management industry.
- Demonstrated experience in and ability to undertake physical labouring duties.
- Proven good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Willingness and ability to work rostered shifts; including regular work outside normal working hours.
- A salary range of $55,600 to $78,100 (plus 11.5% superannuation) dependent upon shifts (higher weekend penalty rates), skills and experience.
- 9 day fortnight working arrangement.
