Youth Forensic Mental Health Nursing Manager

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Unit Manager to lead our team of mental health professionals at the Custodial Forensic Youth Mental Health Service. This exciting opportunity will challenge you to provide exceptional care to young people and their families while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
About Your New Role:
- You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to young people across 24 hours, 7 days a week roster.
- Lead a dynamic team providing recovery-oriented mental health treatment and support to young people in custody.
- Collaborate with staff on each shift to ensure clinical standards are met and the clinical environment runs efficiently.
- Foster comprehensive consultation, liaison, and negotiation with young people, families/carers, and various other members of a multidisciplinary team.
- Work closely with the existing NUM to assume responsibilities in their absence.
About You:
- Registration as a Nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or Bachelor Degree in Nursing.
- Post-graduate qualification in Mental Health.
- Comprehensive experience in the application of clinical and nursing practice in youth mental health, including risk assessment, mental state assessment, psychoeducation, care coordination, and partnering with young people and their family/carers.
- A strong focus on ensuring high standards of clinical practice through staff supervision, clinical review, training, and professional development.
- A desire to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to young people.
