About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HSE and HR professional to join our team in Brisbane. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive remuneration package, employee benefits, opportunities for career development, and a true work-life balance with flexible working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide credible advisory services on employment law, employee relations, organisational change programs, communication plans, and personnel management.
- Counsel, support, and enhance managers' capabilities in best practice people management, including development, motivation, communication, performance management, policies, processes, and employment law.
- Identify and communicate legislation changes to stakeholders, creating action plans and recommending HR solutions.
- Negotiate Individual Flexibility Agreements (IFA's) and facilitate Human Resource workplace investigations.
- Ensure health and safety compliance, providing relevant information related to Health and Safety Management Systems, documentation, and promoting a safe working environment.
- Liaise with clients on HSE matters under project manager direction, attending meetings and audits, and promoting a positive safety culture.
- Audit approved management system compliance, develop, implement, monitor, and review site Safety Management Plans, and participate in HSE team meetings and activities.
- Liaise with statutory bodies and assist Injury Management in processing workers compensation claims and providing rehabilitation support.
Required Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
- Four years' experience in generalist HR Advisor roles.
- Two years of practicing Safety Practitioner experience.
- Three years of experience within the Mining Industry (preferred).
- Substantial experience as an advisory position holder, including generalist HR and ER/IR support.
- Knowledge and experience in the Coal Industry is preferred.
- Ability to conduct workplace inspections, surveys, and audits.
- Interpretation skills of Legislation, Australian Standards, Codes of Practice, and industry practices.
- Familiarity with state Mines Act & Regulations and OHS Act and regulations.
- Maintain valid Motor Vehicle Drivers Licence, current Senior First Aid Certificate, ICAM, Drug and alcohol testing, Chemalert certifications, Bachelor's degree in a related area, member of recognised HR Institute, Certificate IV OHS/WHS, Certificate IV TAE, Certificate IV Frontline Management (optional), and Environmental Management (optional).
