About the Role

The Recreational Activities Officer will drive the energy, engagement, and participation of residents into a range of social, recreational, and cultural activities. This role will also lead mental health and wellbeing programs that empower residents' choices and independence.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and lead activities for residents that meet social and recreational needs while promoting independence and increasing quality of life
  • Assess and document the effectiveness of programs, tracking residents' progress and making changes as needed

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Cert III in Leisure and Lifestyle
  • Senior First Aid Certificate is essential
  • Previous experience within an aged or community care setting
  • Highly developed organization and time management skills
  • The ability to solve problems independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards, and Outcomes
