Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the drafting and documentation function, providing effective leadership and operational oversight.
  2. Forecast and monitor pre-build planning schedules, allocating resources to achieve duration targets internally and via external service providers.
  3. Develop and implement strategies to manage costs on each build and achieve costing targets.
  4. Implement sustainable systems and processes supporting accuracy in design and documentation, facilitating external approvals according to building codes.
  5. Provide insight into build methodologies and detailing for accuracy in plans and cost-effective built form.
  6. Act as a point of contact to resolve design and documentation issues between clients, external service providers, and approval channels.
  7. Ensure compliance of plans and builds with National Construction codes and Australian Standard Codes.
  8. Develop employees, including feedback and coaching; and communication of performance objectives.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years' experience in a senior operational role in the housing and construction industry.
  • Qualifications in Building Design/Architect.
  • Working knowledge of the building and construction industry, including strong knowledge of National Construction and Australian Standard Codes.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
