Senior Civil Drafter

In this role you will:
- You will manage drafting on large projects autonomously and lead junior drafters within the project team.
- Manage small and large projects autonomously where no Lead Engineer is allocated
- Liaise with engineers and architects on the preparation and coordination of documentation.
- Competently convey structural information into drawing format which can be interpreted by builders.
- Assist Lead Engineer in the preparation of preliminary sketch designs from architectural drawings as required.
- Provide training and assistance to junior drafters including technical support of Civil 3D and other software.
- Actively input ideas to the progressive improvement of the drafting systems
- Communicate relevant project information as appropriate to the project leaders/project team.
About you:
This role is ideally suited to someone with:
- Relevant TAFE qualification or equivalent
- At least 8-10 years in a similar role
- Team player that works seamlessly with all levels of staff
- Strong understanding of Austroads, BCA and relevant Australian Standards
- Ability to co-ordinate existing & proposed utilities
- Ability to interrogate information & data prior to commencing drafting with a keen eye for design parameters.
- Proficient in the use of Civil 3D for drafting major projects utilising a National Systemised framework for all aspects of the drawing set.
- Experience in delivering large civil projects and leading a project documentation team.
- Highly desirable in documentation of roads, drainage and civil infrastructure utilising digital framework.
- Professional level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem solving/analytical skills with a great attention to detail
