Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Advisor to join our team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support of HSE compliance, management plans and procedures across a range of construction and remediation defence projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist project teams in the preparation and implementation of HSE documentation, including Management Plans, SWMS, JHA's and conducting audits.
  • Coach, advise and educate site personnel on legislative requirements and changes to comply with company procedures.
  • Administer incident and hazard reporting processes and actions as per company procedures.
  • Assist management to encourage a healthy safe and environmentally responsible working culture amongst personnel.
  • Conduct HSE site inspections and audits, coach site teams on effective delivery of pre-start meetings and toolbox meetings.
  • Coordinate HSE training programs, including the maintenance of competency standards.
  • Actively analyse HSE performance, reporting, system updates and maintain the company Integrated Management System to an accredited level.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience leading HSE in construction and remediation works.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage deadlines.
  • Capable of managing incidents and completing reports using the ICAM process.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years previous experience in a HSE advisor role, within the construction industry.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or a similar discipline.
  • Defence site experience is highly regarded.
  • Experience in the creation and reviewing of Management Plans, SWMS, JHA's and conducting audits.
  • Understanding of Quality Management processes.
  • Ability to operate autonomously whilst ensuring project efficiency.
  • Must be able to obtain a DCAC pass.
