
Contract Review Specialist

This is an opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to develop their skills in contract review and administration within the construction industry.
Two family businesses serving the construction industry across Australia are looking for someone who can assist with contract review, negotiation, and compliance.
The primary objectives of this role include:
- achieving agreement with clients on contract terms in the shortest possible time while delivering exceptional customer experiences and meeting risk management requirements
- ensuring operations teams are aware of and adhere to contractual obligations on a weekly basis
- issuing payment claims in accordance with contracts
- regular check-ins with project managers to ensure best practices in contract administration, including sending required notices under a contract
- implementing contracts with subcontract installers
To be considered for this role, you will need to have some legal or accounts experience, knowledge of legal wording, or excel in English and be a quick learner. You should also be able to understand and interpret contract terminology and wording, craft clear and effective additional clauses, assess risks to determine the best course of action, and be skilled at working with people and negotiation.
As a person, you should prioritize customer focus, be an effective communicator and team player, be adaptable and flexible when working within small family businesses, be analytical and meticulous about details while maintaining a broad perspective, and be diligent and dedicated to following through thoroughly to achieve successful outcomes.
Required Skills and QualificationsYou will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
- legal or accounts experience
- knowledge of legal wording
- excellent English language skills
- ability to understand and interpret contract terminology and wording
- ability to craft clear and effective additional clauses
- ability to assess risks and determine the best course of action
- skilled in working with people and negotiation
Familiarity with the construction industry would be beneficial, and experience in small businesses is desirable. Internal and external expert guidance and training are available for all aspects of this role.
