Afterhours Counselling Support Specialist

This role involves supporting carers who contact the Carer Gateway Service after hours, providing therapeutic support and coping strategies to manage emotional distress. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will work with family carers experiencing sudden and significant changes in their caring role.
Responsibilities:- Provide therapeutic support and coping strategies to carers via phone.
- Work as part of a team to support carers experiencing distress.
- Record and share relevant information, facilitate referrals or transfers to crisis services as needed.
- Australian professional association accreditation (e.g., Australian Counselling Association, Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia, or Australian Association of Social Workers).
- Experience with clinical therapies, including Rogerian and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
- Similar role experience, preferably in a large organisation.
- Professional indemnity insurance and right to work in Australia.
- Valid Driver's Licence, ability to undertake some travel.
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate and satisfactory National Police Records Check.
- SCHADS level 5B salary ($51.28-$53.31 per hour) + superannuation + salary packaging benefits.
- Part-time opportunity (24 hours per week) based in Campbelltown, NSW and Upper Mount Gravatt, QLD.
