About Our Role

The Afterhours Community Connect Counsellor role is an exciting opportunity to support carers who contact our service after hours, experiencing emotional distress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic support, coping strategies, and safety planning to carers contacting our service after hours by phone.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support carers experiencing distress.
  • Record and share relevant information with appropriate supports; facilitate warm referrals or transfers to crisis services as needed.
Requirements
  • Australian professional association accreditation (e.g., Australian Counselling Association, Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia, or Australian Association of Social Workers) as an accredited ordinary member.
  • Experience with clinical therapies, including Rogerian and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a large and/or complex organisation.
  • Professional indemnity insurance as part of your professional bodies accreditation.
  • Right to work in Australia.
  • Current valid Driver's Licence and ability to undertake some travel.
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (free online).
  • Satisfactory National Police Records Check.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Working with Children's Check (Employee/Paid).

  • Salary: SCHADS level 5B ($51.28-$53.31 per hour) + superannuation + salary packaging benefits.
  • Part-time (24 hours per week) opportunity based in Campbelltown, NSW and Upper Mount Gravatt, QLD.
