Mining Engineering Manager

  • Develop, supervise and review mining engineering standards and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Drive strategic initiatives and lead a high-performing team to achieve operational excellence.
  • Champion safe work practices and ensure effective management of statutory inspections, communication and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have strong skills in mining engineering, operational management, supervisory roles and interpersonal communication. They should possess a background in mining engineering, including experience in underground longwall mining, operational management and supervisory roles. Additionally, they should have tertiary qualifications in mining engineering or a related discipline and hold a valid NSW explosive security clearance and Australian driver's licence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement plans for mine operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a high-performing team to achieve operational excellence.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality standards, conducting regular audits and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Compliance Management: Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, ensuring compliance through effective risk management.
Requirements:
  • NNSW Mining Engineering Manager Certificate (or equivalent).
  • 10+ years of mining experience, including 3 years in underground longwall mining.
  • 5+ years in operational management and supervisory roles.
  • Tertiary qualifications in mining engineering or a related discipline.
  • Valid NSW explosive security clearance and Australian driver's licence.
