The company owns and operates the Fosterville Gold Mine, located on Dja Dja Wurrung Country, approximately 20 kilometres east of Bendigo in Central Victoria. Bendigo, with a population of approximately 120,000, is one of Victoria's largest and fastest-growing rural cities, offering a great lifestyle choice.
MINE CONTROL OPERATOR (13-month Fixed Term)
We are recruiting for a fixed-term role as a
Mine Control Operator
. The primary purpose of this position is to operate, control, monitor, and report on plant and equipment associated with underground mining production and support systems.
Reporting to the Mine Control Supervisor, your duties will include:
Collecting and validating operational data received via radio calls or automated systems;
Ensuring all reports are issued with valid data in a timely manner;
Acting as First Response to emergency radio calls for actual emergency events and training exercises;
Providing a high standard of communication with all underground personnel;
Remotely operate and monitor fixed plant equipment and mine services under direction from the Maintenance team and Operations management;
Work with underground shift supervisors to monitor activities against shift plan and notify key personnel of variations.
The successful candidate should possess the following:
Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills with attention to detail;
The ability to multitask while remaining calm in a fast-paced environment;
The ability to work independently as well as with a diverse range of people;
A high level of computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word);
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and logical aptitude, with confidence in raising and addressing issues;
A willingness to give your best effort every time to help improve the mining operation;
Previous experience using Pitram software will be advantageous.
The roster for this residential position is 7 days on, 7 days off, Day/Night Shift.
