Job Title: Disability Support Worker - Life Skills Coach

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team as a Life Skills Coach. In this role, you will work closely with children and young people with disabilities to develop their life skills, promote independence, and enhance their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in community access activities with children and young people, promoting socialization and skill development.
  • Facilitate and lead small group activities that support life skills development, socialization, and recreational activities.
  • Co-design and implement programs based on your interests and expertise, such as cooking, photography, art, languages, music, gaming, or other areas of passion.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with participants to encourage their growth and development.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure that each program meets the needs and goals of our participants.
Requirements:
  • A strong alignment with our values and mission.
  • Certificate III in Individual Support or a willingness to enroll and study.
  • Experience or a strong interest in social, recreational, and wellbeing activities and flexibility in your work schedule.
  • Availability to do shifts outside school hours, including weekends.
  • Availability to work at least 15 hours each week.
  • Excellent literacy skills for writing case notes and comfort navigating IT systems.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality, self-organization, and attention to detail.

  • Starting remuneration at SCHADS award Level 2 (dependent on experience), plus superannuation.
