About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Facilities Engineering Specialist to join our team in our North Ryde Data Centre for Fujitsu. This is a permanent role with a salary and benefits package associated with shift work. The successful candidate will report directly to the Data Centre Manager.
This role involves working on a shift roster pattern, providing 24X7 coverage. Shift work will consist of:
- 2 x 12 hour day shifts
- 2 x 12 hour night shifts followed by 4 days off
- 20% Shift allowance on top of TRP
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Data Centre security physical and access procedures, IT infrastructure, Data Centre Plant and Equipment maintenance / activities and batch operations
- Identifying faults and issues with data centre infrastructure, and addressing where possible. Escalating to relevant vendors or internal teams as required
- Assisting in the maintenance, efficiency and reliability of a large and technically complex data centre facility
- Leading and coordinating Incident management and supporting procedures
- Assisting with preparing monthly reporting related to data hall environmental conditions, power usage and SLA adherence
- Managing Risk management around the DC and assessing all WHS associated with the centre
- Engaging with risk management. Identifying, assessing and addressing WHS hazards and incidents around the facility
- Liaising with Clients and Services Providers as required during the coordination of facility maintenance
- Subcontractor management and supervision including maintenance, repair and new installations as required on a 24x7 basis
- Ensuring Fujitsu Data Centre National Access Procedure is followed at all times
Requirements and Experience
To be successful in this role, the candidate will need:
- Electrically qualified by trade or Mechanical / Controls preferred
- 2 years previous experience working within a data centre or similar environment
- Able to work independently and trouble shoot customer issues
- Experience in operational efficiencies and operational process creation and reviews
- Excellent customer service, communication skills and a 'can do' attitude
- Awareness of WHS principles
- Open cable license favourable
