Data Centre Technician Role and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data centre operations, hardware, and software. They will be responsible for reviewing and acting on incoming and open tickets, prioritizing work based on ticket severity, and participating in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all production server hardware and software. The technician will also provide escalated second-level technical support for complex issues, communicate confidently and clearly with all stakeholders, and maintain strong adherence to processes and act as a process champion.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled data centre technician to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of data centre ecosystems, including cooling, electrical, networking, and structured cabling. They will be able to troubleshoot and solve all but the most complex infrastructure issues and create and maintain documentation on the technologies they support.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and action incoming and open tickets, prioritizing work based on ticket severity
- Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all production server hardware and software
- Provide escalated second-level technical support for complex issues
- Communicate confidently and clearly with all stakeholders
- Maintain strong adherence to processes and act as a process champion
