Overview

RUBENS@HEPBURN is seeking a skilled Chef to join our team. The role involves preparing and cooking Mediterranean-style dishes, ensuring high standards of taste, presentation, and consistency. You will manage daily kitchen operations, supervise and train staff, monitor stock, and maintain food safety and hygiene practices. The Chef will also contribute to menu planning and the creation of seasonal dishes to enhance the dining experience. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar role, strong culinary and leadership skills, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment. Salary: $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 per annum

Responsibilities

- Plan and create menus that showcase your culinary expertise.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes with precision and creativity.
- Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently, maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of orders.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and professional working environment.
- Adhere to nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications

- A relevant Diploma qualification plus at least one year of full-time post-qualification experience in a similar role; OR a minimum of three years of experience as a Chef.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent time management and organisational abilities.
- A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to quality and innovation.
- Knowledge of best practices for training kitchen staff and implementing kitchen procedures.
- Ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment.
