Qualifications and Experience

- Certificate IV in Commercial Cooking or equivalent with minimum 2 years relevant experience as a chef.
- Experience in working within a dynamic and high performing kitchen.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Tasks and Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes.
- Plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and order food supplies.
- Ensure the quality of dishes during all stages of preparation and presentation.
- Effectively manage and direct the activities of kitchen staff, including supervision, training, and creating cost-effective rosters.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address issues promptly and efficiently.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Maintain a positive, timely, and enthusiastic attitude under pressure, with a commitment to interacting with clients and staff.
- Strong understanding of hygiene practices, safe food handling, and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of nutrition and cost-effective menu planning to accommodate various dietary needs and preferences.
- Regularly monitor, analyse, and adjust kitchen metrics, including meals, wages, and costs, providing reports as needed.
