In our team you will experience ongoing professional development opportunities, a supportive environment - which provides flexibility to assist work and life balance, the latest technology and new equipment, a department compliant to the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and Gastroenterological Nurses College of Australia Guidelines (GENCA).We are seeking a Clinical Nurse in the specialty of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) on a 12 month fixed term basis to join our Subiaco Unit. The Clinical Nurse/Midwife acts as a responsible and effective team member and leader, assists in the overall clinical management of the Unit, is responsible for the provision of comprehensive patient care and supervision of care provided by nurses in accordance with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency).**The Position*** Provide reliable information to patients and families about their diagnosis, treatment options, medications, and monitoring.* Act as a central point of contact, coordinating care with treating physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure a coherent pathway for patients.* Deliver evidence-based nursing care and offering consultation services within the IBD specialty.* Initiate research, developing clinical practice standards and participating in quality improvement activities within the gastroenterology department.* Provide guidance and mentorship to other nurses, especially in the IBD field.* Act as shift coordinator as required and in liaison with the Nurse / After Hours Manager/ Perioperative flow manager and monitors staffing levels continuously to ensure appropriate numbers of skilled staff are available within the agreed productivity targets.* Systematically evaluate actions and document the outcomes of nursing/medical interventions (including monitoring diagnostic results) and report significant anomalies promptly.* Ensure documentation of planned nursing care and holistic care plan remains current and regularly evaluate documentation of the multidisciplinary team to determine their compliance to hospital policy.You will hold current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse with significant post registration experience within IBD specialty and the ability to practice at an advanced level.To succeed you will have well developed leadership and communication skills with the ability to educate, support and mentor patients, family and caregivers.**We can offer you*** Salary: $104,903 to $110,954 plus 12% superannuation* 12-month fixed term part time position working 32 hours per week* Salary packaging up to $18,550 on a range of benefits such as mortgage, rent, meal entertainment, holiday accommodation or other everyday living expenses as well as options to salary package benefits above the FBT cap on items such as: + Novated leasing + work related expenses + self-education and + additional superannuation* A healthy work-life balance through flexible work options, additional purchased leave and well-being programs* Employee discount on St John of God Hospital & Medical Services and Private Health Insurance* Employee support through our dedicated free Employee Assistance Program (EAP)* Access to fitness and wellbeing benefits through*All applicants are asked to submit a covering letter (of no more than two (2) pages) demonstrating how you meet the above position requirements*For enquiries contact Angela De Nardi, Endoscopy/IBD Nurse Unit Manager on 0407 006 205If suitable applicants are identified advertisement may close prior to listed date and screening/interviews may commence throughout the advertising process.*At St John of God Health Care, we celebrate diversity and warmly welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.**Our commitment is to create a safe and nurturing environment for all children and vulnerable individuals in our care and proactively take steps to protect them from abuse, ensuring their safety and well-being.**Our inclusive culture fosters an environment that is respectful and secure, welcoming and accessible, and unified through our diverse community.*At St John of God Health Care we support you to be the best health care professional or support worker you can be.
