Job Title: Financial Accountant
Location: Lonsdale
Reports To: Finance Manager / Head of Finance
Job Overview
The Financial Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing timely financial reporting to support business decisions. This role involves managing day-to-day accounting activities, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring the integrity of financial data.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Reconcile bank statements, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare statutory and regulatory reports, including GST, FBT, and other compliance requirements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
- Assist with audits and ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.
- Provide financial analysis and reports to management to support strategic decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or CA qualification preferred.
- Minimum 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and statutory requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
