Youth Coordinator
Part-time two-year contract
Our church & Our Community
Brisbane North Oasis (BNO) is a multi-generational, multi-cultural Christian church 7km from Brisbane’s CBD. In a world of busyness our vision is to be an oasis; a community experiencing and spreading God’s life-giving and loving ways. We are Christ-centred, relationship oriented and community focused, because we believe God is relevant to everyone both within and beyond our walls.
The role
We have generously been given the opportunity to create a part time position to enhance and build our youth ministry. The person in this role will lead and develop our work with secondary aged young people. Working alongside our leadership and a small team, this role will seek to disciple teens towards a living relationship with Jesus in a range of contexts from school and community activities to a Sunday morning program.
Key responsibilities
- These will be in some measure shaped by the person we appoint but will include:
- Building our Sunday morning Thrive Youth discipleship program
- Enhancing connections in our local secondary schools
- Developing and leading relationally based community opportunities for youth to regularly gather
- Inspiring, supporting and training young people to be missional disciples themselves
- Supporting and training a team to work alongside you
About you
A passion for knowing and following Jesus in your own life
A love for young people and their tremendous potential in faith, alongside a desire to inspire that in them
Alignment with our vision, values and missional heart will be critical, as will your willingness to join our community
- Capacity to be part of a team and develop professionally
- Have a current Blue Card and National Police Check
- Hold a current Australian driver’s licence
- Must have the right to live and work in Australia
- Proven experience in the field will help us determine your suitability.
Additional Information
This role is part time (approximately 2 days a week plus half a Sunday) with some flexibility in working arrangements, salary and conditions based on the recommendations of Churches of Christ Queensland. We have funding for an initial two-year position, although our intention is for the role to continue long term. We are committed to finding the right match for us but are open to starting it as soon as we do so.
Application Process
We welcome people taking the time to pray and approach us with questions about this position – please email hello@bnoasis.church and we will respond at our earliest opportunity. A CV and cover letter can also be sent to the same address.
PLEASE DO NOT APPLY VIA THE CHURCHES OF CHRIST WEBSITE – THIS IS NOT MONITORED
