It is a requirement of this role to have possession of a tertiary degree relevant to the role such as social work, behavioural science or social science, criminology or other recognised degree.
Taskforce Guardian is a joint initiative by Youth Justice and Queensland Police Service (QPS). This Youth Justice team works alongside the QPS to provide temporary, concerted additional resourcing to youth crime hotspots to assist in increasing Youth Justice supervision, community engagement and coordination. This specialist youth team will be a highly mobile, highly agile specialist unit to provide support where it is needed most to focus on high-risk young offenders.
The role of the Team Leader is to work in consultation with the manager, Queensland Police Service Team Leader and Youth Justice Service Centre staff to oversee the day-to-day operations of Taskforce Guardian in supporting service centres. This position will supervise a multi-disciplinary team of youth justice staff to ensure the provision of high-quality court, casework and restorative justice services to young offenders, their families and victims, with the aim of reducing re-offending.
