About the Role
We are seeking a proven sales leader to take the reins as our State Sales Manager for Victoria. If you are a highly motivated sales professional with deep knowledge of the HVAC industry and a passion for driving market share, this pivotal role is for you.
As the State Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and market expansion across Melbourne and Regional Victoria. This is a highly strategic role that combines hands‑on account management with sales team leadership and execution of state‑wide strategies.
This is a full‑time position.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue Generation (50%): Drive sales volume and profit targets by supporting, developing, and expanding relationships with existing and new dealers, distributors, and builder contractors. Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities across all heating and cooling product categories (Ducted Gas Heating, Evaporative Cooling, and Reverse Cycle).
- Team Leadership (30%): Lead, motivate, and develop the Victorian Sales Team to consistently achieve and exceed budget targets across their territories. Ensure the team is well‑informed and operating safely and efficiently.
- Strategic Execution (10%): Execute state and national sales strategies, marketing initiatives, and promotional campaigns to elevate the brand profile and solidify our reputation for innovative, sustainable HVAC solutions.
- Stakeholder Management (10%): Serve as the primary point of contact for a dedicated portfolio of key partners while collaborating closely with internal teams (Marketing, Technical, Service, Operations, Finance) to ensure outstanding customer satisfaction and business alignment.
- Decision Making: You will have the authority to approve pricing adjustments, implement marketing programmes, onboard new partners, and manage team performance and resource allocation within the state.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven Experience: Demonstrated success in sales management within the HVAC or a similar industry.
- Qualifications: A degree, diploma or qualification in Business or a related field is preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Practical, working knowledge of ducted gas heating, evaporative cooling, and reverse cycle systems.
- Leadership Excellence: A proven ability to coach, motivate, and manage a sales team to achieve key objectives and exceed targets.
- Strategic Acumen: Proven success in developing and executing sales plans that drive market share growth.
- Relationship Building: Exceptional ability to build and maintain strong, ethical partnerships with dealers, distributors, and builder contractors.
- Negotiation Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and proactive problem‑solving skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient use of MS Office Suite, ERP, and CRM systems for effective sales forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
