Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages over 36,000km of distribution networks, more than 4,300km of transmission pipelines and 60 petajoules of storage capacity. We employ over 500 team members and manage a contractor workforce of approximately 1600, who provide both specialist and operating and maintenance services on AGIG’s gas distribution networks.

About the Opportunity

As a People & Culture Business Partner at AGIG, you’ll be a trusted advisor and change‑maker—partnering with leaders across operational and corporate teams to deliver people‑first solutions. From coaching leaders and navigating employee relations to driving inclusive culture initiatives and capability‑building programs, you’ll help shape a workplace where everyone can thrive. With your knowledge of employment legislation and hands‑on HR expertise, you’ll lead impactful projects, support recruitment, and contribute to strategic planning that aligns with AGIG’s values and goals.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner with the business to deliver timely and efficient People & Culture services across both operational and corporate teams.

- Provide expert coaching, guidance, and support to managers on employee management, in line with People and Culture policies and processes.

- Provide employee relations advice and support to leaders and employees, including the management and investigation of complaints and grievances.

- Support end‑to‑end recruitment and onboarding processes as required.

- Develop, deliver and facilitate information sessions and training programs on People and Culture related matters to build capability across the business.

- Partner with leaders to identify and drive change initiatives that positively impact workplace culture.

- Support the delivery of annual functional plans within budgetary requirements.

- Manage People and Culture projects and participate in both functional and cross‑functional initiatives.

- Undertake benchmarking and provide advice on remuneration and benefits.

- Contribute to policy development and ensure compliance with employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) Awards and Enterprise Agreements.

About You

- Demonstrated experience (minimum 5 years) in a business partnering role, coaching leaders on a range of People and Culture matters.

- Experience working with both operational (blue collar) and corporate workforces, with a strong understanding of Awards and Enterprise Agreements.

- Working knowledge of a broad range of HR functions, with significant experience in employment legislation, employee development, recruitment and selection, Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation, and policy development.

- Experience in managing and investigating complaints and grievances.

- Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships at all levels of the organisation.

- Demonstrated high‑level written and verbal communication skills.

- Experience in the infrastructure or utilities sector is highly regarded.

- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or a related discipline.

- Sound knowledge of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and other employment legislation.
