About the Role

The Senior Accounts Payable (AP) Officer plays an important role in supporting Esri Australia’s operational excellence and strategic growth. This position is responsible for overseeing accounts payable and procurement, ensuring financial transactions are accurate, timely, and compliant.

By fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors, the Senior AP Officer will identify insights and drive process improvements to optimise efficiency and risk management and contribute to the Finance team’s ability to deliver value and support the company’s broader objectives.

Here’s what a typical day will look like:

- Mentor and support finance officers and other team members in accounts payable (AP) and procurement functions
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
- Develop and maintain documentation for AP procedures, controls, and training materials
- Lead initiatives to streamline workflows and support system enhancements
- Build and monitor key AP performance metrics and apply quality assurance tools to drive continuous improvement
- Oversee end-to-end AP processes including supplier setup, invoice reconciliation, and payment processing
- Manage Corporate Credit Card and Travel Account

About You

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior finance professional with strong experience in accounts payable and procurement. The ideal candidate brings a solutions-focused mindset, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and a track record of driving process improvements. They’re confident working independently, collaborative across teams, and bring emotional intelligence to every interaction, balancing accuracy, empathy, and efficiency.

To be successful you will need to bring along:

- 5+ years related experience in finance, with a focus on AP and procurement.
- Demonstrated experience leading process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide, motivate, and develop teams.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Experience with ERP systems for medium to large organisations, and experience with Workday is highly regarded.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence, with the ability to navigate sensitive situations, show empathy, and build positive relationships across the organisation.
- You must hold current permanent and full-time working rights in Australia.
- Attitude and behaviour align with Esri Australia's core values.
- Please note you need to obtain satisfactory AFP National Police Check certificate pre-employment.
