Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accounts Payable Officer to join our team in Rochedale. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our accounts payable function while providing day-to-day leadership to one direct report.
In this varied role, you will manage supplier accounts, oversee payment processing and reconciliation, and act as the key contact for vendor queries. You will also support wider office operations and motor-vehicle administration, contributing to the overall efficiency of the QLD office.
Your proven experience in accounts payable (minimum 5 years), strong ERP knowledge, and exceptional communication and organisational skills will enable you to thrive in this fast-paced, collaborative environment. Experience within civil construction or related industries will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end processing of supplier invoices and payments in IFS
- Monitoring AP inbox, supplier follow-ups, and reconciliation
- Preparation of weekly and month-end payment runs
- Managing and mentoring one Accounts Payable Officer
- Overseeing office administration and fleet coordination
- Liaising with suppliers, internal teams, and external partners
- Supporting HR and IT with onboarding and office operations
- Promoting a proactive and solutions-focused team culture
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Accounts Payable role
- Experience in leading or mentoring a small team
- Strong data entry, ERP and Excel skills
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsPositive, adaptable, and team-oriented mindset
- Exposure to the civil construction sector (advantageous)
- Tertiary qualification in accounting or similar discipline (desirable)
